It’s Monday. Time to get to work. How’s the view from your office?

I’m about to see mountains for the next eight or nine hours, so not bad actually.

Still got 13 hours before work so I’m headed for a drive in the mountains for breakfast/dinner.

I no longer get a view... since there is a gigantic 43" monitor in front of me between the window.

My office is a crap cutting room full of cheese dust. Hoping I get a response from a company I applied at.

A bunch of cherry trees of various sizes, a currently-blooming white azalea (?), a decrepit fence post or two, a building built cheaply some time in the 80s, and a sheetrock bucket. Not a *bad* view as such, but a little more placid than that.
The cherry trees have grown up, so I don’t know if the Mustang hood and discarded wheel+tire are still in the woods there. Also, it’s not exactly my office view, it’s the view of the guy who’s not in today. All I can see from where I sit are a couple cherry branches.

My view isn’t as nice as that guy’s, but I prefer my office to not have giant whirling knife blades 3 feet from my head anyways.

I’m looking at three walls and a giant window that overlooks our Houston office cube farm. Yes, I have taken over the boss’ office for the day! I am the king of all I survey!

I’ve actually been puzzling about that photo for a while this morning, and I now think that it’s a pusher propeller. Otherwise, that guy would have a tough time standing there, and it also explains the open fairing.

Feel free to send some of that rain to Texas. Looks like we’re starting another drought.

I miss having walls like that, especially with the idiot VP on constant, loud , conference calls behind me.

The bearing block on the shaft has a small spot which may very well be an oiler... which would mean some poor bastard would have to go out to it a couple times in a long flight, most likely. With wind sucking *toward* the prop...

As I mentioned to WiliamsSW, there appears to be an oiler on the bearing block, less than a foot from the *sucking* and spinning prop. No doubt also in the wash from the engine cooling, so hot. “Hindenburg prop shaft oiling technician” would probably not have been my choice of career... even if they shut down for that.

I wonder if he had a safety line attached. You would think, but that was 1936, so, who knows?

Oh, that’s the best part, he’s got a headset (we all do; Skype assimilation complete!), he just shouts everything.
